I fished the JBR 752c and JBR 813c at the same time I fished the same baits on the MBR 782 GLX and MBR 843 GLX. Perhaps it was that I have grown so used to the feel of the MBR rods having fished them for so long, but I got the sense that I couldn't snap the jerkbaits as well with the JBR rods as I could with the MBR rods. That being said, I don't have a "rod rack" a la TT reviews, but they certainly didn't feel as crisp, alive, or as fast in my hands as the MBR rods. Don''t get me wrong, they''re very nice rods and much better with jerkbaits than the CBR series, just not as good to me as the MBR rods for their intended technique. There is a also an obvious difference in the price of each of those rods too.

I own a G.Loomis JBR752C that is great and was my favorite rod but I got a new Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'10" MH-MF casting rod that is the best jerkbait I ever used. I got it for deep diving cranks and bigger square bills but the way it performed I thought about trying it for jerkbaits but I had to get used to the extra length as I normally use shorter rods for jerkbait. After a a few outings I am now able to work the baits with the longer rod and it is fantasic but the baits need to be 3/8oz or heavier as it is a true rating. I love it because it is light at under 4oz and it has the perfect action for jerkbaits, the tip is fast which lets you work the bait but when you hook up with a fish it flexes throughtout the upper 2/3's of the blank allowing you to keep the fish buttoned up without pulling the trebles free, it really is an amazing rod.
