this rod has been in service for the last 3 years doing various baitfishing tasks. Ive used this rod for livelining snappers on the rocks, early spring clam FISHING in the bay, chunking for stripers, and even chunking for sharks and rays. the rod is light and powerful. ive beached 40-60# rays and sharks with this rod from an open beach. took the better part of 20 minutes to land them but the deed was done. Its powerful enough to handle bigger fish but also light enough and sensitive to do finer work like catch schoolies on half-clams, or some fluke. Its an all around solid workhorse type rod, which is something that cannot be said of all lamiglas rods. these rods are tough and reliable.i dont baby it at all, in fact the opposite. it can handle 2oz and 3oz accordingly but 4oz + bait/rig is this rods desired casting load. you can go up to 5oz comfortably, but once you reach 6oz +bait/rig you've maxed out and its time to be careful when casting.

i have mine paired with Abu Blue Yonder. extremely light setup which is nice lor long periods fishing. you'd be a bit undergunned with anything over 100# on this setup, but anything below you should be good to go.

i wouldn't buy this rod new, definitely try to get it secondhand.
