Braid friendly as far as I know. Tip replacement is a good question. Great sensitivity, but setup is a pain. Also, weed is a major problem for clogging, otherwise wonderful rod. You can use the same rod for conventional or spinner with no loss of distance.

I have four of them. Three are set up wiith Abu 6500's, 2 ten footers and an eleven. I have an eight footer set up for a spinner I used on the kayaks. I really like them alot. They are extremely light, cast a plug a country mile and have plenty of backbone to handle some serious fish.

The draw backs, pain to re-thread, as WB stated. When the snot weed is in the wash, if you are not paying attention, can get jammed up in the tip.

Other than that they are a pretty nice light surf rod, that is extremely easy to pack in a small rod tube for air travel, due to no eyes to worry about.

I've sold about a half dozen of them and people seem to like them, but usually they never seem to end up being anyone's #1 rod.
I think the main reason is it's kind of a pain in the butt when the line breaks. You gotta carry a coil of wire around (comes with the rod) and fish the line back through the rod. The concept is brilliant, the inside of the rod is ribbed, so it''s like having a couple hundred guides inside the rod so you''re really using every inch of the rod to fight a fish. I tried a friend of mine''s 10''er, and it casts pretty well, but it ain''t for me.
